Honorary President of the Romanian Space Agency, Dumitru Dorin Prunariu, received the Doctor Honoris Causa title of Babes - Bolyai University

Dumitru Dorin Prunariu, the first Romanian cosmonaut, Honorary President of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) and president of the European branch of the Association of Space Explorers - ASE Europe, has been proposed to be awarded the Doctor Honoris Causa title of the Babes - Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca.

The event will take place tomorrow, 26 November 2014 at the educational institution, from 11:00 a.m..

This award comes in recognition of the merit and outstanding results obtained by Dorin Dumitru Prunariu over time in the exploration and peaceful uses of outer space field and it takes place at the initiative of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Engineering of the University of Cluj.

Born on 27 September 27 1952 in Brasov, Dumitru Dorin Prunariu became on 14 May 1981 the first and only Romanian who has ever flown in space. More details about his historical success can be found here.
