On 14 September 2022, the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) with the support of the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalisation organised an Info Session on the ESA Programmes for the period 2023-2025. The event took place at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV), in Bucharest.
The meeting’s goal was to inform the research, industrial and academic community about the new European Space Agency (ESA) programme proposal, but also to prepare Romania's participation in the ESA Ministerial Council, taking place in November this year, in Paris, France.
Dr. Phys. Marius-Ioan Piso, President of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), introduced the programme proposals for the ESA Ministerial Council. This was followed by a discussion, attended also by Romania’s representatives in the ESA programme committees. The last part of the meeting included bilateral discussions.
The Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalisation, Sebastian Burduja, added during the opening of the event that Romania is very close to paying the remaining contribution to be able to participate in the ESA Ministerial Council, ensuring his full support in this endeavour.
As per the ESA Convention, an update of the ESA programmes will be decided by the ministers responsible for space from the 22 ESA Member States, at the end of November this year in Paris, France.
