World Space Week 2010

on 04 October 2010

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) participates in the World Space Week campaign, between 4-10 October 2010.

In July 1999 the United Nations General Assembly declared October 4-10 as World Space Week. This declaration was a recommendation resulted from the UNISPACE-III conference held in Vienna, Austria earlier that year. The main objective of this event is to help decision makers and public opinion understand the benefits of space science and technology for sustainable development.

In 2012, about 104 activities were registered on the official calendar of the World Space Week 2010 activities from the WSW website. A list of those can be found at this PDF file.

More details about World Space Week in Romania can be found on the ROSA website.
