Informative Session for the National Research&Development and innovation in security and defense Programme - 2005

on 30 March 2005

The Interministerial Group for research and development in security together with the Romanian Space Agency and the Agency for Military Equipment and Technologies Research, organized the first informative session for the national research programme in this field on the day of Tuesday, 29 March 2005, 09:30 - 18, at the Romanian Academy Library, "Ion Heliade Radulescu" Room. The international developments on European security issues and the determining influence of scientific research and technological and industrial expansions on this field led to the recent development of a national research programme in the national security and defense.

The multidisciplinary and multisectoral nature of the activities, the ability to provide a concrete and necessary target to the results of scrientific research and also the national needs in the process of European integration is an opportunity for real collaboration between research institutes, universities and high-tech industry profile.

A major goal is to prepare the participation of national actors in the European security research programme. Recently approved by the European Commission, this priority is an important component of the Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development of the European Union, to which Romania contributes financially. The Security Research Programme is funded by the European Commission 1 billion euros annually since 2007.

Purposes:

  • Informing participants about the recent European/international programs on scientific research and technological development in security and presentation of the main objectives of the National Programme for research, development and innovation in the field of security and defense;
  • Presentation by participants of concerns, achievements and potential proposals in the field, in order to strengthen the main directions of research and development and to definitize the priorities for the National research, development and innovation programme in the field of security and defense;
  • Promoting a collaborative environment in order to to identify common concerns and to build partnerships for research and development projects that may be included in the national programme and European/international future and present actions.

Participation:
The session is dedicated to industrial, research and academic organizations, which have activities in the field of national security and defense, regardless of the form of organization and ownership.

The organizers invite participants to make presentations of potential projects and / or expressions of interest for inclusion of some goals / thematic directions / results in the national priority objectives, in order to synergize the efforts and achieve the necessary critical mass for a real impact on the research market.

Participants who wish to hold one or more presentations are asked to prepare and send it to the This email address is being protected from spambots. The presentations will contain a maximum of 4 pages of video projection and will be submitted electronically (MS PowerPoint or compatible). Presentations made ​​by participants will not contain classified information according to law.
