10 September 2016 Citizens' Debate on Space for Europe

On 10 September 2016, the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) will host the Citizens' Debate on Space for Europe. It is the first time the future of space is addressed with such an event. This consultation on unprecedented scale is organised by the European Space Agency (ESA) in all its 22 Member States simultaneously, with a unique methodology.

About 2000 European citizens are expected to participate. Any Romanian citizen interested in attending the event has to register until 28 August 2016 on the website of the event.

The citizens will have the opportunity to communicate their opinions regarding priorities for current and future space programmes during the whole day. The results of the meeting will be consolidated and communicated to the European Space Agency to serve as recommendations from European citizens in defining future space strategies.

In Romania, the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) will organise the debate in Bucharest, at a location to be announced soon on the Romanian page of the debate website and on the ROSA website. The event will take place during the whole day of 10th of September, from 09:00 to 17:00. Lunch and coffee breaks during the day will be covered by the organisers. Transportation to and in Bucharest will be covered by selected participants.

To express their interest in participating at the event, Romanian citizens must apply on the website until 28 August 2016. The number of available places is defined by the capacity of the venue and it will be of approximately 100 places. Selected participants will receive a confirmation of participation. Attendance to the event is free of charge.
