On 12 April 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first human to fly into space. 20 years later, on 12 April 1981 the first space shuttle was launched. „Yuri’s Night” is a global campaign to mark these events every year — a celebration of human presence into space, in the past, present and future.

The European Space Agency (ESA) and the Raspberry Pi Foundation announced that 208 teams in 22 countries have been granted ‘flight status’ and will progress onto Phase 3 (Deploy) and Phase 4 (Analyse) of Astro Pi Mission Space Lab Competition 2019/2020. 12 Romanian teams have been selected.

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) invites teachers to apply for the summer and autumn teacher workshops, organised by the European Space Agency (ESA). The summer edition will take place from 7 to 10 July, and the autumn edition from 1 to 4 October. Both workshops take place in the Netherlands and are geared toward both primary and secondary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) teachers. The application deadline for both workshops is 12 March 2020.

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) invites you to apply to an intensive introductory course in integrated teaching using cosmic space as an educational context, organised by The European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO) Romania, a project of the European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with ROSA. The course is intended for primary teachers and it takes place in Piatra Neamț, from 28 February to 1 March 2020. The deadline to apply is 20 February 2020.

The preselection for the National CanSat Competition - Romania 2020 has ended and ten teams have been selected to join the national phase, which will be held in Timisoara in April. The event is organised by ESERO Romania, a project of the European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA).

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) invites students and young graduates to apply for the 44thedition of the Summer School Alpbach which will be held from 14 to 23 July 2020, on the topic of “Comparative Plasma Physics in the Universe". The deadline to apply is 31 March 2020.

For teachers of STEM and all those interested in the subject, a set of 3 classroom resources have been published by ESA Education. The activities which will see teachers and students embark on a scientific investigation of Mars using Lego Mindstorms.
