Webb Quest online event

on 20 December 2021

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) invites teachers and students from across Europe to join the Webb Quest online event, which will take place on 3 February 2022, between15:00- 16:00 CET (16:00 – 17:00 Romanian time).

Secondary students and educators from across Europe will embark on a mission with ESA experts Mark McCaughrean and Giovanna Giardino to learn more about the James Webb Space Telescope and the early Universe.

On 24 December 2021, ESA will launch the highly anticipated James Webb Space Telescope, the largest space telescope in history which will look back in time to help uncover the mysteries of early star birth and galaxy formation.

The ESA Webb Quest webinar is an event tailored for teachers and students, and will help participants discover how Webb will unlock the secrets of the early universe. The event will include an up-to-date overview of the mission, interesting explanations of key science themes related to the innovative telescope, and interviews with ESA experts Mark McCaughrean and Giovanna Giardino.

There will also be an opportunity for students and teachers to ask questions directly to the ESA experts, who have both been directly involved in the Webb mission.

The livestream will start at 15:00 CET (16:00 Romanian time)  and last around 50 minutes, with a 10 minute question and answer session. The event is open to the public and will be tailored to secondary students and educators. A link to the YouTube livestream and Q&A session will be released closer to the date.

The Webb Quest event is part of a wide range of educational activities delivered by ESA and the European Space Education Resource Offices (ESEROs) across Europe.
