Applications open for the 2016 National Exo-RO Rover Competition

The European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO) Romania, in collaboration with the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), organises the 2016 National Exo-RO Rover Competition, addressed to high-school students. The purpose of the competition is to promote the space field to young people, to allow them to develop their professional skills and to promote future scientists in the field of space research.


The competition is addressed to high-school students with ages between 14 and 19 years old at the moment of registration. Participants must register in mixed teams of four people, coordinated by a science teacher. It is important to know that previous participants are allowed to register again, as long as their team has a maximum of two previous participants.

The teams will be able to learn in a practical manner all the stages involved in a robotics project. They will also learn the scientific research methodology and consolidate their knowledge and skills in building a small size rover.

The mass of the rover must be of a maximum of 2,5 kg and it should be remotely controlled.

The finals of the contest will be held between 15-17 September, at Vulcanii Noroiosi, Buzau.
