Mars Express Power Challenge

on 10 June 2016

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) invites you to participate in the Mars Express Power Challenge, a competition organised by the European Space Agency (ESA) and addressed to students, research groups or companies.

The Mars Express mission has been registering vast amounts of data from Mars, collected throughout the last twelve years, data that can hide important information. The main purpose of ESA’s competition is to predict the thermal power consumption of Mars Express in the following martian year, an estimate that can be deduced based on previous data gathered on this matter. This is where participants’ role comes in.

Those interested to participate in the competition should access the ESA recently opened Kelvins website. Here, participants will be able to access three years of activity registered by Mars Express and start mining for relevant information.

The Mars Express Power Challenge will be held between April and August and those who want to find out more information on the subject can access the official website of the competition.
