- ESA and Romania signed two agreements – in 1992 and 1999.
- On the 16th of February 2007 Romania signed the ESA PECS Charter. The event took place at ESA Headquarters in Paris. The Plan for European Cooperating States (PECS) is designed to help European countries, particularly those that joined the EU after 2004, to join ESA. At present, Hungary, Poland and Romania have signed a PECS Charter.
