Request for Information (RFI) on the evolution of the Copernicus Contributing Missions

on 18 October 2021

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) invites you to submit your ideas in a Request for Information, (RFI) on the evolution of the Copernicus Contributing Missions published by the European Space Agency. The deadline is 25 October 2021.

The European Space Agency (ESA) calls for  European commercial providers of Very High Resolution (VHR) EO data, European provider of other commercial EO data which could complement the data provided by the Sentinels or European data operator of VHR ground segment elements to share their ideas for the evolution of the Copernicus Contributing Missions.

The Copernicus programme provides access on a full, free and open basis to its Sentinel data and the Copernicus services’ information products which are based on Sentinel data and where needed, complemented with (commercial) VHR EO data.

This activity to provide the complementary commercial data to the Copernicus programme is called Copernicus Contributing Missions (CCMs) activity and is essentially operated by the European Space Agency - on behalf of the European Commission.

The users of the Contributing Missions (CCMs) activity are the six Copernicus services and mainly the Land, Emergency, Security and Marine services. These services are the primary users while other users such as EU Public Authorities are secondary users (currently over 5700 users are registered in total).
