Resource for teachers: Sea ice, from space

on 10 March 2020

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) informs the teacher community that there is a new classroom resource available, on investigating Arctic sea ice and its connection to climate. This classroom resource is part of a set of resources developed by ESA’s Education Office in collaboration with ESERO.

In this set of activities students will investigate Arctic sea ice. They will learn where in the world it is possible to find sea ice and analyse up-to-date and long-term satellite data about sea ice concentration in the Arctic.

This activity deals with one of the most important indicators scientists have to study climate change and its possible consequences. It is meant for 13-17 years old and it touches on topics such as Earth Observation, sea ice, Arctic, climate, climate change, geography and science.

The Teacher Guide and Student's worksheet can be downloaded from here.
